Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions (Terms) set out the terms and conditions of the contract through which the Marketing Leaders Circle (MLC/us/we) will deliver services to you (you) as a member.  In order to become a member of MLC you must agree to these Terms and in making an application for membership you provide us with the appropriate consent to handle your personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.

The MLC and Professional Conduct

In becoming a member of MLC, you are agreeing to uphold the values and commitments of MLC both personally and in your professional conduct. Failure to adhere to a professional conduct may result in withdrawal of your MLC membership.

A member who becomes aware of any breach of the MLC Charter and Professional Conduct by another member is under an obligation to notify MLC as soon as possible.

Membership contract

When you click or email to submit your membership application online, you are subscribing to MLC’s  terms.

Once your application has been received we will review your application in accordance with our eligibility guidelines. Thereafter we will decide whether your application has been approved for Jade membership, Onyx membership, or if it has been declined. 

Declined applicants may re-apply should their situation or circumstances change. 

Approved applicants will receive an email confirmation once their membership registration and payment has come through.

Membership is renewed annually, and you will receive a member renewal reminder from us at least one month before your membership is due to end. If you are switching from Jade to Onyx (or vise versa) you are required to prove your eligibility and on sporadic occasions, evidence may be requested. You can only transfer to a different membership group/ level at the end of your annual membership. 

You may not transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Terms to another person.

MLC membership groups

Jade membership is only available to individuals who joined MLC after 17th December 2020 and such individuals have under five years’ marketing experience (for example: marketing executives, marketing coordinators, marketing assistants) 

The benefits for Jade members will include free attendance to online events, a jobs board, forum discussion amongst fellow marketers, and access to educational assets such as blogs, white papers and videos.

Onyx membership is only available to individuals who joined MLC after 17th December 2020 and such individuals have over five years’ experience (for example: Marketing Managers, Marketing Directors, Chief Marketing Officers, VP marketing etc) 

The benefits for Onyx members will include free attendance to online events, a jobs board, forum discussion amongst fellow marketers,  and access to educational assets such as blogs, white papers and videos.

Membership types and fees

The MLC membership structure is being continuously developed and we reserve the right to introduce new membership types, each with its own eligibility criteria. Members who join MLC after 17th December 2020 will need to subscribe for one of two membership types available on offer then (subject to such terms and conditions as will apply at the time of their application). Membership is subject to changes which may be notified to you in writing from time to time where applicable. 

Membership of MLC is subject to and conditional on the payment of an annual membership fee.

Membership fee levels will be assessed on an annual basis and members will be notified of any changes (with a full explanation of any such changes) at least one month before their membership renewal is due.

Cancellation and refunds

If you wish to cancel your membership and get a refund of your membership fee, you may do so within 14 working days of us accepting your membership application by sending us your request for a refund by email to membership@mlcircle.com

Any refund will be made by us to you within 30 days of our acknowledgement of your cancellation (which we will send by email to you in such circumstances) and be paid to you in the same way as you paid for your membership.

Right to refuse, or remove from MLC membership

We reserve the right to refuse or remove from MLC membership any individual if we have sufficient evidence that such individual is not upholding MLC’s values.

Termination of memberships

If your actions are deemed unethical in any form, we reserve the right to terminate your MLC membership providing you notice in writing.

Data protection and use of personal data

The personal data you supply to us will be used to:

  • process your membership application, and membership fee;
  • fulfil your membership benefits;
  • for marketing, statistical and analytical purposes on behalf of MLC

You will receive communications from us as part of your membership benefits, mostly by email. Other than as set out above, we shall not sell or disclose your personal data to third parties without obtaining your prior consent unless this is necessary for the purposes set out in these Terms or unless we are required to do so by law.

  1. Guidelines for online peer to peer communication in forums

MLC has three membership forums (Jade, Onyx and General). MLC aim to stimulate discussions, ideas and debates and thus differences of opinion will be aired. The following etiquette is to be followed by MLC members:

Posts on the MLC website forum are limited to a maximum of 500 words. Pictures and documents cannot be uploaded, however you can insert web links to such content.

In submitting online posts in connection with MLC, you agree to the following:

  • Your full name and institution will appear on your posts and replies;
  • You will not use:
    • the site in any shape or form to post job adverts (other than through the proper method via the job board functionality) 
    • the site to promote your business goods or services 
    • jargon, dense language and excessive references
    • exclusive or derogatory language
    • obscene or rude content, or content that belittles or attacks persons or groups
    • profane, obscene, rude, or illegal material or reference sites that knowingly violate intellectual property rights;
    • You will provide links to sources where possible.

MLC is not intended to be a marketplace for any goods or services. However, you may find links to events and other promotional offers appear from time to time on the MLC website. 

All discussions are strictly confidential. 

MLC accepts no legal responsibility for facts stated or opinions expressed in MLC forums and does not endorse any material [generated by such MLC forum]. It is the responsibility of individual members to satisfy themselves as to which facts and opinions should be relied on in any way whatsoever. To the extent lawfully possible MLC accepts no liability for any reliance placed by any person on any fact or opinion expressed in MLC forum.

In submitting content to MLC forums, you grant MLC a royalty-free, unrestricted license to reproduce and publicly display your user content in any medium and for any purpose, including for commercial purposes.

A member who is found to be in breach of MLC’s terms and conditions may also have their access to MLC revoked.


Each of our events may have specific applicable terms and conditions, and if so, you need to check that you can comply with such terms and conditions before booking a place at such events.
